Datacraft beefs up network capacity for major Philippines service provider Singapore, 3 Mar 2010 - Datacraft has won a US$2.7 million contract to expand the network capacity for a leading service provider in the Philippines. The increased availability will reduce latency in the network, simultaneously preparing it for aggressive expansion to accommodate increased broadband service offerings in 2010 and beyond. Like all countries in the region, the Philippines has been experiencing exponential growth in the demand for wireless broadband services. The leading carrier in the Philippines already has over one million broadband subscribers and expects this number to further multiply this year. It leveraged its existing strong relationship with Datacraft to implement a comprehensive upgrade to the access, transport and IP backbone delivery. Besides resolving latency issues, the network is now scalable to handle dramatic expansion in the near future. Having worked with the provider before, we already have a strong understanding of how its infrastructure operates as well as its long-term vision for the business, said Paul Dewhirst, General Manager for Datacraft Philippines. We were able to quickly devise a tailor-made solution, which will optimise the existing network and provide the necessary scalability to cater for the growing base of subscribers in the future. We designed our solution to resolve latency issues, build availability and maximise existing IT investment. The additional capacity will enable more users to access the increased scope of broadband services more frequently. Datacraft's solution entails deploying additional switches in the radio network, in order to support 10Gb of nationwide broadband traffic. This high availability setup will also ensure high quality end-user experience and customer satisfaction for the service provider. To enable new service offerings targeted at broadband users, additional media gateways were also deployed nationwide using Cisco 7600 platforms. The client was particularly pleased that they did not have to outlay substantial expenditure in order to increase its network capacity. As its existing solutions provider, Datacraft had a solid grasp of its network operation and was able to identify easy solutions to their requirements. said Dewhirst. Coupled with our in-depth knowledge of the media and communications industry and proven track record in delivering to tight deadlines, they knew they could rely on us to help them eliminate customer access issues and improve user experience all round. The contract also required Datacraft to provide Primer project management services, as well as a range of Managed Services including Uptime support services. ### About Datacraft
